Dilma Rousseff has put IOC President Bach in an optimistic mood. With the Brazilian President stating that, as of Monday, the Olympics will be her governments “first priority”, Bach said: “I was pleased to hear the confidence President Rousseff has in the Games and what they will deliver, and it was good to hear that the Games and their legacy will be a top priority”. With the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee to receive 1.5 billion US$ from the IOC, the highest ever contribution to any Organizing Committee, the preconditions have been fulfilled that the Games “will leave a huge sporting, economic and social legacy”.
