Serena Williams Joins SurveyMonkey Board

Serena Williams, joining the board of the Silicon Valley firm SurveyMonkey said she wants to help tech companies diversify their work forces and solve one of the industry’s most vexing problems.

The online poll-taking service SurveyMonkey announced Williams’ appointment to its board, with Serena Williams stating: “I feel like diversity is something I speak to,” Williams said. “Change is always happening, change is always building. What is important to me is to be at the forefront of the change and to make it easier for the next person that comes behind me.”

The winner of 39 grand slam tournaments, four Olympic medals, the owner of major endorsement deals and her own line of clothing and accessories, Serena Williams is currently on break from tennis during pregnancy.
