It’s that time of year again when the smell of cookouts, camaraderie of friends, and the roar of the crowd fills the air of college campuses across the country as football dominates each Saturday throughout the season.

While fans promote their teams and stakeout their favorite tailgate locations, it must be expressed that not all tailgating venues are created equal. A recent national Fan Index poll of the top 10 tailgates was conducted and here are the results.

#10. Penn State Nittany Lions: This venue is best known for its immense size as Beaver Stadium can seat over 107,000 fans. The party is on!

#9. Tennessee Volunteers: Neyland stadium is home to Vols and is uniquely situated next to the Tennessee River. A group of fans known as the “Vol Navy” tailgate on boats before every game.

#8. Washington Huskies: Husky Stadium and the Washington campus are located on the shores of Lake Washington. Tailgating fans are indulged with beautiful views of the lake and Cascade Mountains.

#7. Georgia Bulldogs & Florida Gators: “The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” has been a tradition since 1933 and is one of the few remaining neutral site rivalries in college football. This colossal gathering makes for fun and excitement every year in Jacksonville Florida.

#6. Iowa Hawkeyes: The area around Kinnick Stadium is home to the Big A Turkey Leg that is a tasty treat for any rabid fan!

Next week the top 5 college tailgate venues will be revealed.
