“To be able to play with a guy that loved to set up a goal as much or more than score a goal, how can you ask for anything more than that,” Hull told NHL.com of Oates, his soon-to-be fellow honored member in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

  1. The Sharks are running picks in the defensive and offensive zone. I saw at least 12 times last night a Blues forechecker was unable to get on the forecheck because another Shark moved to impede them. Just enough inteference to avoid the forecheck, too little for the Ref to call a penalty. Really ingenious – it also worked for Deboer when he was with the Devils. The Blues are really slow as a team, so San Jose will look fast compared to them. Neither one of these teams will be able to deal with the speed comong out of the East. The Blues will be lucky if they win another game.

  2. Elliot was fantastic. Not saying the Sharks should have won, but they should feel okay after tonight. They had a dominant second period, and Jones gave up a soft goal. Also, with all the TO’s the Sharks made, they should feel fortunate that they were in the game. Many great scoring chances, a couple posts, and great net minding by Elliot. Should be a close series the rest of the way.
